Mixed Reality Experience

Cinema4D, Adobe AfterEffects, Adobe Aero

This mixed reality scene creates a visual intersection between the real and virtual world by overlapping the pedestal cube with a virtual one. When the viewer is getting near to the pedestal cube, the words written on it "Donated to DDA" start floating and spinning.

The sound of the space also overlaps with the virtual scene. The Aero project does not include sounds, but the loud noise from the ventilation system becomes a pleasing splashing sound of the waterfall. Transforming the noise into an almost meditative ambient sound.

The water layers are modeled, textured, animated, and rendered in C4D from a top-down view. The rendered 4K videos are imported into AfterEffects for layering and adding motion blur, and exported as png sequences (with alpha). The animation objects in Aero have a limited display resolution, so the sequences are cropped to multiple 1080p parts, imported into Aero and re-assembled. Animations are played in 23fps, but have some glitches of temporary syncing issues when rendering on mobile devices.
